China continues to be the leading nation when it comes to clean energy attractiveness, according to a bi-annual report by EY.
The renewable energy country attractiveness index (recai) from EY reveals America has jumped to number two, with Holland a big riser – from 15th to 9th – since October’s index.
“While the current economic climate has driven a relentless focus on costs, that focus is paying dividends with the global cost of electricity from renewable sources falling year-on-year. Combined with the plunging cost of battery technology, we anticipate further rapid growth of the evolving renewable energy sector in the coming years,” said Ben Warren, EY Global Power & Utilities Corporate Finance Leader and RECAI Chief Editor.
The index also examines the impact blockchain tech is having on the industry, in how it is ‘managed and traded’. Read the recai for more on this and details of the national performances.
