China plans to invest around £300 billion as part of its ambitious five-year plan for renewable energy development.
By 2020 the country aims to create 13 million jobs in the sector as it looks to generate 50% of new electricity from renewables by the end of the decade.
China’s National Energy Administration outlined its plans to focus on sources like solar and wind this week, in a move which aims to make it a global lead in green energy.
