Your relationship with the environment could soon influence the jobs, education or homes that are available to you – if a new credit scoring system takes off.
American nonprofit body, the Environmental Credit Score Foundation, has pioneered a patent-pending scoring system which assesses an individual, business or any other entity for its ‘environmental creditworthiness’. The score, it says, could be used to determine things like admission to university, as well as securing employment or a place to live.
The idea is for government bodies, industry and other international organisations to use the score to make environmentally sound decisions.
