Three astronauts will journey to the International Space Station this week to work on biotechnology research.
Paolo Nespoli of the European Space Agency (ESA), NASA astronaut Randy Bresnik and Sergey Ryazanskiy of Roscosmos will spend over four months working in space before returning to earth in December. They will join three others already aboard the space station – as part of Expedition 52.
As well as working on biotechnology research they will carry out hundreds of experiments in physical science, biology, and Earth science.
Watch the three launch – from Russia’s Soyuz MS-05 spacecraft – live this week, on Friday 28 July, from Kazakhstan.
