Female founders #ChooseToChallenge

#ChooseToChallenge is the theme of today’s International Women’s Day. Something female founders of pioneering companies are doing everyday in challenging the tired and regressive old narratives of inequality and male dominance.

The EUTOP50 female founder winners announced at December’s European Innovation Summit organised by Knowledge4Innovation are hugely important figures. Transforming the world through their work, they are also catalysts for change and can inspire other women to follow in their footsteps.

“This year’s EUTOP50 finalists are among the most exciting entrepreneurs working in Europe today. We need more women like the finalists, who can inspire others to follow in their footsteps,” said Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth. “The finalists are living proof that with self-confidence we can do anything. I am inspired by their stories, which have given me the energy to work even harder to empower women in Europe and beyond.”
