States and cities across America are continuing to spearhead the country’s efforts to shift to using renewable energy.
The Mayor of Olympia, the capital of Washington state, is the latest to pledge her support, saying she wants the city to be running on 100% clean energy by 2035.
“I am proud to support a vision of 100% clean and renewable energy for our community. And I’m proud to stand with my fellow Mayors from more than 140 cities and towns who see that investing in clean energy means investing in prosperity and a better quality of life for our citizens,” said Mayor Cheryl Selby.
Olympia joins other parts of the US – big and small – in backing sustainability. One of the biggest – California – has committed to going green by 2045 as the movement for a clean energy future grows.
