Amazon is trialling its drone delivery service in the UK. Two shoppers can currently place orders seven days a week – as part of the pilot – via the Prime Air service, with Amazon planning to gradually increase the test to include hundreds of residents living within the vicinity of its Cambridge hub.
It took 13 minutes from the placement of the order on 7 December for the customer to get their package. Drone deliveries have huge potential: as a service for people living in more remote locations and elderly citizens unable to easily access stores.
