A new age of progress

|28 October 2016|

Glasgow

A new culture of collaboration is driving the innovation economy and The Innovation Academy is at the heart of this new age of progress.

Its problem-solving lab – launched in Glasgow today – offers workshops mixed with pitches from real businesses with real problems to overcome. The theory and its practical application brought together – in today’s case with the exciting start-up company HakySak – helps nurture a community spirit of support between businesses of all sizes.

The Innovation Academy is an agile skills and training provider led by Creative Director, writer, comedian and broadcaster Hardeep Singh Kohli.

Innovators Magazine is one of the Academy’s growing number of diverse partners, along with 29studios, Scottish Saxophone Academy, Glasgow City of Science, Interface, Big Mic Ball and Glasgow citizenM Hotel.

Speaking at the launch of the Academy earlier this year, director Susan Robertson said: “With advances in technology and a rapidly increasing global population, innovation will be at the heart of creating a sustainable economy and society.

“We want to look at where the biggest challenges are and identify how innovation can help overcome them.”

The Academy is dedicated to using the latest technology, tapping into areas such as augmented and virtual reality to provide the interactive and ever evolving programmes industries demand in an environment of perpetual change.

We look forward to featuring more of its work in the months ahead.

Here’s a video of one of the Academy’s recent taster sessions – produced by 29studios.
