The world famous Caledonian Sleeper train service between London and Scotland is getting a 21st century makeover.
Labelled one of the world’s ‘Super Sleeper Trains’ by Lonely Planet this month, the London to Fort William route also joins the iconic Johannesburg to Cape Town and Chicago to San Francisco trips in the guide’s top ten.
And travellers can expect even more with the Sleeper set to “offer four innovative ways to travel in comfort on the Sleeper service” by 2018, according to sleeper.scot
Peter Strachan, Serco’s managing director of the Caledonian Sleeper, said “We have made a number of improvements since taking over the service in April this year. However, guests can expect a transformation in 2018 when we introduce new trains – I look forward to welcoming the new Caledonian Sleeper then.”
Over £150 million is being invested in the new fleet, which will be introduced in 2018. There will be an extensive range of new features, including ensuite berths, pod flatbeds and a brasserie-style club car.
