European manufacturers are leading the way in adopting robotics technology into their factories.

The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) forecasts that manufacturers will install around 1.4 million new industrial robots by 2019. And Europe is out in front when it comes to the speed and scale of automation. The IFR revealed that 65% of countries ‘with an above-average number of industrial robots per 10,000 employees’ are located in the EU.

“Automation is a central competitive factor for traditional manufacturing groups, but is also becoming increasingly important for small and medium-sized enterprises around the world,” said Joe Gemma, President of the International Federation.
