The digital technology sector in the North East of Scotland has been boosted by the appointment of Allan Sutherland to influential trade body ScotlandIS.
Allan has been named as Grampian’s coordinator for the organisation, which works to promote the interests of the country’s digital technologies industry.
Economically one of Europe’s most powerful regions, the North East is home to a number of tech success stories such as internet for Business, Codify and inoapps. Allan will play a key role in building on this and his extensive experience working across areas including information technology, gaming and cloud databases makes him perfectly equipped to do so.
He said: “I am looking forward to the challenges that the role with ScotlandIS will bring. I’ll be using my contacts in the north east to provide support and to promote ScotlandIS members in the region.”
A region which is one of the top 20 in Europe for value of economic output per head of population.
Polly Purvis, ScotlandIS CEO added: “We are delighted to welcome Allan to ScotlandIS and know him well from his years working with Oracle. With the growing membership and continued economic importance of Aberdeen and Grampian we were actively looking for the right person to represent us, someone with good local knowledge and contacts. With his experience of the digital technology industry and his connections and reputation in the area, Allan is the perfect fit for us.”
